The following Terms and Conditions are deemed as read, understood and agreed upon once the enrolment has been processed. The terms and conditions are effective once the enrolment form has been signed and submitted.
Kindly ensure that the details on the enrolment form are complete and accurate. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org for any mistakes or changes in your personal details.
You must provide truthful, accurate, and current information about yourself (including your email address) during the registration and account signup process (the “Registration Data”), and maintain and update your Registration Data so that it remains at all times accurate, current and complete. The truthfulness, and accuracy of such information, is at your sole responsibility.
Scratchpad fees are paid on a monthly basis and are due in advance. For example, May’s monthly fee is due before the 20th end of April. We accept internet transfers and automatic payments only for enrolling students.
A $25 late fee will apply if the fee is not received before or on the first day of the month that payment is due.
A student may be absent, at no charge, without being discontinued as long as the student is not absent for more than one calendar month in a calendar year.
Paid fee is non-refundable and is forfeited should a student discontinue enrolment or if any sessions are attended at any time during the month.
Written notice is required before leaving the program. Since fee is based on the calendar month, we must receive this notice by the 20th day of the preceding month in order to stop the program by the end of the following month. Failure to give this written notice 30 days in advance will result in your account remaining open and active until written notice is received.
In cases of medical or other emergencies where notice by the 20th day of the preceding month is impossible to give, please call us and we will do what we can to accommodate your situation.
Fee is prorated for the first month only according to the day of the month enrolled. Full tuition is charged for subsequent months until written notice is given to terminate enrolment as stated above.
All usernames and passwords provided to the students remain the property of SCRATCHPAD and will be reset once the subscription has been cancelled. This applies to all SCRATCHPAD programmes including school holiday programmes.
An administration fee of $25 will be charged.
All photographs that the student was part of will continue to remain a property of SCRATCHPAD.
Methods of Payment
Fees are to be paid by direct debit or automatic payment to our bank account.
Free trial is a one time offer. Students will only receive One (1) free trial upon first visiting the Centre, the trial includes One (1) free class, and students may not receive another free trial upon enrolment or re-visiting the Centre after an extended period of time.
Confirmation of Enrolment
The confirmation of enrolment will be sent via an email after the fees are received in full.
Students under 16 years
Parents or guardians of students under the age of 16 must arrange transport facilities for students. It shall be the sole responsibility of the parent or guardian to ensure the student has arrived safely.
At no time will the Centre be responsible for the student before arriving or after leaving the Centre.
All applications must be co-signed by the parent or guardian in order for them to be processed.
Cancellation by the Student and Non-Attendance
Cancellation or non-attendance due to illness or for personal or professional reasons does not entitle the applicant to a refund, extra tuition or transfer.
However, everyone misses a class sooner or later. We either forget, traffic is bad, or practice runs late. Life happens. In such an event the Centre will consider all the relevant circumstances and proceed in a fair and reasonable manner. If you know that your child will not be able to make their scheduled class day, then please inform us before the scheduled session timings. A make up session may be issued.

Make up sessions
Make up sessions cannot be redeemed for cash.
Make up sessions are not transferrable
Make up sessions cannot be used after cancellation of enrolment or once student has ceased to be subscribed at SCRATCHPAD.
Make up sessions expire after 120 days
A maximum of 5 make up sessions are allowed to be accumulated.
If a student is going to drop out of a course, either temporarily or indefinitely, a written notice is required by the 20th day of the preceding month in order to stop the program by the end of of following month. Failure to receive such notice will result in continued charges to your account. Your account will remain open and active until written notice is received.

Cancellation by the Centre
The Centre reserves the right to cancel or amend courses, change course dates and substitute educators at any time.
The Centre guarantees a three (3) working day notice when a course is to be cancelled or rescheduled. The applicant will be given the option to choose another related course or to be given a full refund of the course fees or of the classes cancelled.
The Centre will provide refunds within one month from notification.
Rescheduling of Classes by the Centre
For any particular class postponement for reasons for which the Centre is responsible, such as staff illness, the Centre will ensure that the class is rescheduled or where this is not possible, add the missed hours on to the remaining course classes.
However, the Centre will not, in any manner whatsoever, be liable for any losses including, but not limited to, travel and accommodation expenses arising as a consequence of any modification or cancellation of courses.
Course Material and use of Computer Labs
The course fee is inclusive of the cost of electronic course notes, access to an online student area and basic course materials.
Throughout the course, students are not allowed to install any software without the prior consent of Centre staff, or change any computer set-ups or passwords.
Authorisation is must before students can use any external storage devices (such as USBs or pen-drives).
No mobile phones, games or any other similar electronic equipment, unless with the consent of the Centre’s staff, are to be used during class.
Eating/drinking in class is not allowed.
Smoking on the premises is strictly prohibited.
Students are to handle all computer equipment with care.
The courses will be delivered in English. Applicants whose first language is not English should note that they are required to be proficient in written and spoken English and be able to participate in group discussions and presentations in English.
Students are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner and to recognise that other students may require support and assistance.
If a student becomes persistently disruptive, the Centre reserves the right to give a verbal and/or written warning.
If a student is dismissed for misconduct, no refund will be given.
Students are encouraged to arrive for classes on time. Permitting late entry to the class is at the discretion of the Supervisors.
Students enrolled in our Centre will have access to online course information, programmes and curriculum as well as academic software and electronic learning resources. Students are expected to utilise the Internet for the intended purpose, which includes learning and enhancing technological skills.
Centre takes appropriate steps to ensure all content is filtered and nothing untoward is available to the students. In cases if something untoward is discovered, the Centre will take appropriate steps to ensure such content is filtered out.
Acceptable use includes accessing trusted programmes, accessing other content that supports the educational objectives of the Centre and communication with supervisors through allocated practices such as email and Edmodo.
Unacceptable use of the Internet will not be tolerated; use of company devices and the Internet is a privilege not a right. Downloading, installing or using software programs or executable files without permission from a supervisor is a prohibited action.
General Internet use in a manner that does not support the educational objectives of the Centre is also deemed unacceptable.
Misuse will be dealt with accordingly. The student may be issued with a verbal or written warning and the parents may be contacted. If the student continually misuses the Internet or any of the company’s associated programmes they may be asked to leave the Centre permanently and unenrolled from the course. These actions will be executed at the discretion of the supervisor and may not be challenged.
Privacy & Data Protection
The Centre endeavours to keep any personal information provided by the applicant confidential.
Such personal data will not be given or shared with third parties. Personal information will only be used for educational, promotional or marketing purposes by the Centre unless the applicant does not wish to receive such information.
The Centre, its employees and representatives accept no responsibility for any loss of or damage to personal belongings or property of the student, or for any personal injury to or death of a student occurring on the Centre premises, whether by fire, theft, evacuation or by any force majeure event.
Nor is the Centre, its employees or representatives liable for damages for cessation of operation and resulting cancellation of courses due to an event outside the Centre’s control.
Students are liable for any damage caused to the Centre’s premises and property.
The Centre reserves the right and retains copyright to all promotional photographs, which may be taken of students on its premises. The Centre will obtain prior permission from the student and parents or guardians before taking photographs, and the student, parents and guardians have the right not to be photographed and should be conveyed to SCRATCHPAD in writing. No personal details of students will be passed to third parties, except the appropriate authorities, without prior consent.
Law and Jurisdiction
These terms and conditions will be governed by and are construed in accordance with New Zealand Law, and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of New Zealand.
These Terms and Conditions are subject to change without notice, from time to time at our sole discretion.
School Holiday Programmes
For cancellations up to 7 days before the start date of the school holiday programme enrolled course, you will be refunded the amount you have already paid towards the course fees, minus a $25 processing fee. For cancellations within 7 days of the start date, no refund will be made. No refund will be made for any missed course days due to fixed costs already incurred based on student numbers.
If your child is unable to attend a course due to an unexpected illness you will be entitled to a credit on your account for the days they were unable to attend. This credit can be used towards another SCRATCHPAD course within six months of the course your child was unable to attend.
If it is determined that a student needs to be collected early or excluded from the remainder of the course, no refund will be given. If you are unsure if a SCRATCHPAD course will be suitable for your child, please contact us prior to registration.
We ask that all parents contact us no later than the first day (of our holiday programmes) if they have any problems with our service. We require a detailed written account addressing specific issues of concern. This allows us to immediately address any problems that may arise. We require that all emails are sent to us by 6.30pm so that we have time to respond before the beginning of Day Two.
If a student has fully completed an entire school holiday programme that they enrolled for, we operate a No Refund policy.
