ROBOTICS FOR KIDS

At SCRATCHPAD, we believe that every child should have the opportunity to learn how to code and build robots. That’s why we offer a range of after-school robotics programmes designed specifically for kids.

Our robotics for kids programmes are suitable for children aged 7 and above and are perfect for beginners who are interested in learning about coding and robotics. Our programmes are designed to be fun, engaging and educational, and our experienced tutors work with small groups of children to ensure that everyone gets the support they need.

Our after-school robotics programmes cover a range of topics, including coding fundamentals, electronics, robotics and more. Children will learn how to build robots, programme them to perform specific tasks and develop their problem-solving skills along the way.

Our programmes are designed to be flexible, and we offer a range of options to suit your child’s needs. Whether your child is a complete beginner or has some coding experience, our programmes are designed to cater to all skill levels.

Students have access to a large number of robotic kits with varying levels of complexity. Each course will follow the structure below, but students are welcome to jump to a higher level if they are familiar with the basics. The structure we follow is:

1. Introduction to the concept of robots
2. Creation of 2D and 3D robots
3. Familiarisation with standard components
4. Introduction to standard programming languages
5. Building and programming of robotic kits
6. Creating new robots from base components
7. Introducing custom behaviour

This course is designed to promote multiple skills, including

• Teamwork

Each session lasts an hour and the course is taught one day a week. The content of each session builds on the previous one, and allows for students to practice various concepts at home.

Students can enrol at any time and based on their skill level we provide a number of session timings to choose from. We are open 7 days a week so there is always a session time that will work for you.
